Pacific Standard Time kicks off a month of celebration as we mark our 5th year of providing the Bay Area with quality music, community-building, and performances…to kick off our anniversary month, we are pleased to welcome legendary Philadelphia producer, DJ and recording artist KING BRITT!!!!!!
King Britt began as a DJ and producer for legendary hip-hop group Digable Planets — his initial moniker of “DJ Silk Worm” referenced his status as tha 4th member of this popular group. He then proceeded to form his own group, Sylk130 and achieved international status with two LP releases that were both critically and commercially well-received.

Never one to stay in a box, King Britt formed his own label, Ovum Records with fellow Philly legend Josh Wink. His reputation for eclectic and genre-smashing DJ sets began to grow at this time, and King Britt was not only touring the world as a top-tier DJ, but doing studio remix and production work for the likes of Tori Amos, Donna Lewis, Keoki, Jazzanova, G-Love & Special Sauce, United Future Organization and Gilles Peterson.

King Britt now helms Five Six Media, which houses both his own releases and those of his stable of artists like Hezekiah, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jody Watley, and more. King Britt continues to push musical boundaries, while embracing the spectrum of soulful music that epitomizes the mission of Pacific Standard Time….
