Bay Area, California artist, TOPKAT, transcends the boundaries of hip-hop not only with his rhyme style, but also with exceptional substance in his music. He continues Vallejo, California’s rich tradition of innovation in the genre and, has the ability to present its many flavors, including dance, party, and conscious music. And not to disappoint the purists, TOPKAT paints a rare blend of life’s soulful struggles and triumphs with his lyrics, challenges his audience with political undertones, and packages it all in a timeless hip-hop sound—destined to be a classic.
Known for contributing creativity, originality, and good old fashioned independent hustle to the Hip Hop world – Vallejo, California (The Bay Area) yields another rising star through this musical producer called 6Fingers. Avoiding the label of one particular sound or style, he can merge today’s music with his own unique twists and produces unlike any other.
World meet Fashawn – a 90’s baby hailing from Central California whose music will leave you believing that maybe Hip Hop’s golden era has yet to arrive. Full of raw talent, charisma, and an undying hunger, the 20 year old emcee is the breath of fresh air hip-hop has been waiting for. Placed in a group home by child services at the age of 12, Fashawn found solace in music, and began writing rhymes to escape the less than desirable hand he had been dealt so early in life. In 2006, Fashawn released his first mixtape, “Grizzly City”. Catching the attention of fellow Fresno emcee, Planet Asia, Fashawn was invited to go on the road with him. Since then he’s had the honor of working with two of the Mid-West’s premier DJs, Mick Boogie and Terry Urban on the Orisue clothing sponsored “One Shot One Kill” mixtape, and with Hip-Hop internet heavyweights OnSmash.com and NahRight.com on his “Higher Learning” mixtape. Both efforts garnered him nationwide recognition.
Exile’s production work with artists include Mobb Deep, Ghostface Killah, Kardinal Offishall and Jurassic 5 ; well renowned. He claims his influences to be contemporary producers J Dilla, Jon Brion and Madlib. Among more recent releases include Radio and Fashawn’s: Boy meets World. He is known for “coarsely chopped beats” that give off “laid back soulful vibes.”
