Since its beginnings, to during the time when it was viewed as tacky, to it being the new frontier for at least two new generations of music heads, Dam Funk has been proudly gliding along with nothing but a bag of 80’s soul records, a keytar, and his hair blowing into the future. DF, is indeed the true peoples champ of funk music. He wears it, talks it, and lives it without compromise or hesitation. Dam had his index and pinky finger extended when Rodger rode with Zapp to meet Eric & Parrish all the while keeping his hood pass firmly intact. Best believe there was no scuffs on his Converse or a single wrinkle in his Dickies.

Helping the night out are three S.F. locals who also follow Dam’s love for funk music and keeping it true: King Most, Guillermo of Sweaterfunk, & Freddy Anzures. All three have spent countless hours & rent payments on tracking down obscurities, racking up passport stamps, and causing people to loose their cool in either a packed club or in a sweaty Chinatown basement. You could of previously found their deejay monikers next to other Stonesthrow all-stars such as Mayer Hawthorne, Aloe Blacc, & Peanutbutter Wolf as well as like-minded deejays such as DJ Spinna, Kon & Amir, & Jazzy Jeff

About SOM (The Venue)

Such artists have included Kenny Dope, Pete Rock, Quadron, Gaslamp Killer, DJ Harvey, Benji B, and many more.
