Madlib with Robot Koch & Change the Beat
Madlib
“An Extremely Rare Madlib Medicine Show and DJ Set of Original Productions
Amassed Over Two decades of Global Digging.”
If you don’t know, Madlib is one of the most prolific and critically acclaimed hip hop producers of all time. He has collaborated with a myriad of hip hop artists, including Erykah Badu, The Alkaholics, Mos Def, De La Soul, Ghostface Killah, Talib Kweli, MF DOOM as Madvillain, and the late J DILLA as Jaylib. Madlib has described himself as a “DJ first, producer second, and MC last.” His projects range from blunted out heady beats, to club rap, electronic influenced soul funk and reggae. He was asked to remix the Blue Note catalog and made one of the most classic remix albums of all time- Shades of Blue.
His monikers range from the bad boy Quasimoto, to the jazz stylings of Yesterday’s New Quintet, to the classic LootPack albums, to Jackson Conti, and the illusive Beat Konductor. He is one of the most sought after producers in the world, period. His appearances are few and far between and this show is not to be missed.
Robot Koch
(Live from Berlin)
Robot Koch is the genius bass producer behind heralded projects such as Jahcoozi and has release a slew of hard hitting hip hop singles. His bass-centric future music has been described as “raw, real, and out of this world.” Hailing from Berlin, he has toured the world countless times devastating crowds, rocking dancefloors, and breaking speakers. Robots do not sleep.
Dibia$e
Veteran west coast beatmaker Mr Dibiase has been busy. His breakthrough album on ALPHA PUP records, Machines Hate Me, has been getting countless plays by all the heavyhitting djs around the world. A fusion of blap, hip hop, and slumpy low end, his modern approach to beats pays both homage to producers such as Madlib and Dilla, but also looks forward into outer space, where this dude obviously kicks it. His productions run the gambit from 8 bit video game classics to seductive soul to raw grungy bangers this guy has no limitations no sample is safe.
