Temple, Euphonic Conceptions and Grassroots California Present: Re:Creation, a new monthly event!
Blockhead Bio:
A fan of a whole range of sounds, especially hip-hop, Blockhead steadily built a tremendous collection of tapes and later CDs from innumerable artists. Blockhead produced 9 tracks on Aesop Rock’s critically acclaimed album Labor Days as well as half of the tracks on Aesop’s follow up EP, Daylight. Blockhead has worked with Slug of Atmosphere, Murs, Mike Ladd and SA Smash, as well as releasing a break beat album entitled Blockhead’s Broke Beats, which was released on Mush Records. And just to prove that he ain’t all about art-rap, Blockhead produced 2 tracks on the newly crowned Skribble Jam Battle Champ, MacLethal’s full-length album as well as exquisite, emotional instrumental hip hop on the one and only Ninja Tune.

Michal Menert Bio:
Coming from a musical background of playing guitar, keyboards, and dabbling in a variety of other instruments gave Michal a unique approach to composing his own musical style. He co-produced the debut Pretty Lights album, “Taking Up Your Precious Time” and has collaborated with Derek Vincent Smith on a handful of tracks since then. Currently he is releasing a solo album, entitled “Dreaming of A Bigger Life” on prettylightsmusic.com. His sound combines samples from both Eastern European and Western vinyl with rich analog synthesis and organic, hard hitting beats. It is a fusion of yesterday’s elements and tomorrow’s dreams.
