The show is in anticipation and celebration of Stop Hatin’ In the Bay Remix.   You may ask yourself, what does Sellassie mean when he says “Stop Hatin’ in the Bay.”  If you’re a native to the San Francisco bay area, you’ve seen the posters.   They are on thousands of poles in your neighborhood and on hundreds of liquor store and smoke shop windows across the Bay Area.  Stop Hatin’ in the Bay is Sellassie’s plea to independent artists to support each other’s music and movement, by first and foremost; LISTENING TO EACH OTHER.

Stop Hatin’ in the Bay is not just Sellassie’s new single, it’s a sincere message.  As an independent artist and entrepreneur, Sellassie has created his place in the bay area scene and nationally from a stance of Peace and Love and Inclusion.  Stop Hatin’ is a movement.  Sellassie has built a name out of no name, a career from scratch as one of the most progressive and popular independent emcees in the Bay Area, while dealing with the same issues he describes in the song.  As a testament to his message, Sellassie created and co-produces the 2Racks Rap Contest and We All We Got Independent Concert Series.

Also on the show, Mike Marshall will be featured.  Berkeley native, Michael Marshall was the lead singer for the Timex Social Club who in less than a year, had a top-ten single with “Rumors” and started a new genre;  hip-hop soul in the mid 1980’s.  Most recently,  he completed the album called K.I.M. with rapper Equipto in 2004, had an international top 10 dance hit, “Your Body,” with DJ Tom Novy in 2005, completed solo album  Love, Lies & Life with hit song “So Young” featuring San Quinn in 2006, and was featured in 2008 on the Tunnel Runners compilation, that went on to hit the Top 25 rap albums on Billboard its first week.   Mike lives now in Northern California and has completed his second solo R&B album, Soul Of The Bay.

Sellassie’s  WE ALL WE GOT is an independent Artist Showcase , designed to expose upcoming talent, cultivate relationships, and build community, a place to discover some new music you just might like and mightn’t hear elsewhere.  The December 29th edition showcases Nap Nat from Oakland, Shaneski  from San Francisco and Chozinn from Los Angeles.

Proudly Sponsored by Fusicology, Reverb Nation, KPFA’s Hard Knock Radio + the Hip Hop Congress.
