:::::::: Z-MAN :::::::::::
Zmainey I’m into music and arts. If it sounds good and looks good, I’ll love it. I was born in San francisco Ca. and live and breath here now. I travel lots because of music and art professionally. I love to entertain. I write songs and rap. I call my style “animated realism”. My art pretty much goes hand in hand with that. I draw and paint. I’ve drawn and painted all of my rap albums. My first album was on cassette. This may sound quite braggy but, google Z-man and you’ll find the kid been workin’.

Death To A Taxi Video

Distant Relatives is a Hip Hop group established in 2003 representing the “Boondox” of the north bay ..Group consists of (emcee) Maynee,(emcee) Vocab Slick and Dj Ricky Switch

In a time where Hip Hop has took a turn towards the more extreme side of oversaturating songs with an overwhelming showing of material wealth, weather it be fact or fiction. Lyrics riddled and over refrenced with cars, money and jewelry enter “Distant Relatives”. D.R .first entered the scene in early 2002 via a young Vocabulary Slick
and his longtime childhood friend Emotionall with dreams of becoming a sucessful rap group while expressing their life expieriences through the art of ”Hip Hop”.

Both life long Hip Hop fans, quickly went to work on their first album enlisting the help of another local emcee named “Maynee” the project was entitled ”For The Passion” (available on Itunes) and was their take on everything that inspired them too make music in the first place. The 3 of them took to the stage playing every show in Northern C.a. that would give them time and quickly became the go to guys for promoters and club owners alike. Soon after the release of “For The Passion” Emotionall was detained and deported to Mexico in yet another example of crooked Government practice in this great nation we live. After the deportation V.S. and Maynee decided to keep pushing because the journey that had been started was bigger than any Political agenda.

The next project they released was
“The Ethx Of Distant Relatives” (www.DistantRelatives.net) entierely produced by Fremont phenom producer “Ethx” as well as a new Dj Ricky Switch a young Dj who recently relocated to San Francisco from Ireland. The project gained them West Coast acclaim distributing 10,000 copies up and down the west coast.
After the hype of ” The Ethx” ep began to die down D.R. went back to the drawing board with local super producers Rick Vargas and Adam Carr to develop a new sound and a new record. The result is “This Changes Every Thing” their best work to date. A musically engaging project with a majority of live instrumentation. Together with the epic landscape created by the production team mixed with D.R.s self proclaimed truth music (aggressive, personal, heartfelt lyrics) have garnered all the makings of a classic work. “If ya dont know know ya know”
