The Brooklyn Circus SF 4 Year Anniversary Block Party Celebration: This time of the year anticipation in the Bay area is at an all time high. This year we shook things up a bit with of our Interim pop up Shop followed by what all Bay area folks start their summer with, a classic “Brooklyn style block party”, courtesy of The Brooklyn Circus & The Fillmore Jazz Festival. They say time flies when you’re having fun, well 4 years in the Bay area did more than fly. Which is why, annually on 4th of July weekend, we host our 48-Hour Block Party.

Well, it’s that time again folks, when we round up the Best DJ’s in the Bay Area, give The Bearded Man a microphone and celebrate four flashing years on Fillmore Street. This year we joined forces again with The Fillmore Jazz Festival- “The Largest Free Jazz Festival on the West Coast” attracting over 90,000 guests and every year it gets bigger and better. This year the entertainment has been taken up a few notches; with Limited Edition BKc releases, a Beverage Garden, a Classic Photo Booth sponsored by PF Flyers, complimentary refreshments by Vitamin Water, and a Special Surprise Guest DJ has has been added to the bill. So for anyone who hasn’t been to San Francisco ever or in awhile — we promise this is a perfect opportunity to book that trip to have the time of your life. See you there!

Festival’s fifth year features local music icons as headliners

Metallica, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Stevie Wonder, Foo Fighters and Jack White will headline this year’s Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival, according to Allen Scott, vice president of Berkeley-based promoters Another Planet Entertainment.

The annual festival, held in Golden Gate Park, returns Aug. 10-12.

Sigur Ros, Skrillex, Norah Jones, Beck and Die Antwoord are also scheduled to appear, along with dozens of other artists, many of them local.

“It’s a good mix of young and old, legends and up-and-coming bands,” Scott said. “I think people are going to be blown away.”

Another Planet started leaking hints about the acts appearing on the bill earlier this month via Twitter and Instagram.

Last year’s festival, which featured headliners the Arcade Fire and Phish, drew up to 60,000 people a day to the park.

“Based on our past success, we had a lot of acts that wanted to play this year,” Scott said. “We’re already having artists line up for next year. We have some good dialogue going.”

Three-day passes for the festival, the fifth Outside Lands, start at $195 and go on sale on Thursday. For more information, visit www.sfoutsidelands.com.
