With the recent successes of DJ pioneers such as A-Trak and DJ Craze, the art of turntablism and those who have paved the way in this lane of hip hop have once again found themselves in the spotlight. Propr, the new in-house promotion company for F8 in San Francisco, is paying homage to a true legend by welcoming J.Rocc of the World Famous Beat Junkies on Saturday June 7th.
J. Rocc founded the Beat Junkies in 1992 with Melo-D and Rhettmatic, but has done just as much on his own as in a group setting. He began DJing in the mid-’80s with a California group named PSK. Soon after forming, the Beat Junkies became a seminal force in the rise of instrumental hip-hop, including core member Babu plus future stars Shortkut and D-Styles. In addition to numerous mixtapes and his own production for Stones Throw releases, J.Rocc has been the DJ for Madlib’s live shows since the early 2000’s, was the 3rd member of Jaylib (Madlib & J Dilla) during the group’s live events, and collaborated with Madlib on Beat Konducta Vol. 5 6: A Tribute to J Dilla.
This evening will be a night of good quality music with a line up of supporting DJ’s compiled of some of the Bay Area’s best in Hip Hop, Bass and Beats. Don’t miss out and be sure to get your early bird tickets for as little as $7.50 via Eventbrite.

This week at ROTC we are featuring one of the finalist of the One-Track-Wonder competition. This very talented MC blessed the crowd with her slammin’ joint “HMFY (Hell Mother *%$kin Yeah)” and got the party jumpin’. Sunday March 23rd we get to see this magnificent artist’s full breadth.
A touring Artist, Breathless has visited stages throughout the US and Canada including Warp Tour and is garnishing radio plays internationally as well. Now she’s taking the Bay Area by storm. Breathless withholds years of experience as a professional in the business with a great reputation and work ethic. She received an Omaha Entertainment Award for Best Hip Hop/Rap artist, as well as performed live in the event to rave reviews. Breathless continues to be nominated.
Packing in around 175 shows a year, she has been called the Hardest Working Woman in Hip Hop, Honey B consistently shines as an artist with each release, and has a fan-base that is continually growing through performances, radio, internet, and more. She’s got plenty to offer, and music that everyone can relate to.
