Realer Than Fiction
“Hailing from the heart of San Francisco, Sam “Oh Blimey” McDonald is a female rapper, singer and songwriter armed with an unmatched passion for artistry. Oh Blimey’s musical background extends two generations, to a blues musician father and jazz musician grandfather, which adds unique depth to her musical knowledge. At the age of twelve, Oh Blimey gained clout battling fellow MC’s on the school yard and returned to the craft recently to claim epic victories in the world’s largest battle league, “Grindtime Now.” In 2011, she was the first female to ever battle at “Rock the Bells,” one of the largest hip-hop festivals in the nation. Her go-getter mindset, dreamer’s spirit, and West Coast flavor are all reflected in her edgy sophisticated music. ”
“Realer than Fiction” (Free D/L www.mediafire.com/?pc54kte4g8rtynl) Is a brief EP that pairs dynamic lyrics with an array of musical compositions from producers Forties & Foreigners and Ded Pixl. The team dabbles in dub- & elctro-hop, pays homage to the old school, and finishes with a cutting edge sensual sound. Engineered by Hank Kalleen aka Ear Jerker at Hear For You Mastering. Cover Art by Taylor Francis.
