Presents “Black Genius”

“Black Genius” is a celebration of the contributions made by African American inventors, innovators, physicists, astronauts, and others to the science & innovation community at large. Black Genius will be a mixture of cultural performances, multi media presentations, historians, and other guest speakers who will provide engaging information about our contributions to these fields as well as speak to the efforts of individuals currently making ground breaking contributions.  This event will be the first annual event of its kind with an overall goal of raising the awareness of K-12 students about the importance of African American advancement in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

“Black Genius” KEYNOTE Speaker Ryan Leslie attended Harvard College at the age of 15 finishing and recieving his degree at 19. Leslie is now a Grammy nominated record producer, multi-instrumentalist, rapper, entrepreneur, singer and founder of the media company Next Selection Lifestyle Group.  Leslie recieved the prestigous Vanguard Award in 2010 from Havard College.  The ISIS project is honored to have Mr. Leslie come speak to the Youth of Oakland.

Low End Theory San Francisco Returns March 4 with Flying Lotus, Free the Robots, Matthewdavid & Shlohmo!

After a stellar debut of Low End Theory San Francisco in January, the forward-thinking music showcase is back with all residents plus some amazing guests on March 4, 2011 at 103 Harriet.

Brainfeeder label head and musical pioneer Flying Lotus will headline the second installment of the Low End Theory San Francisco, shaking off the space dust to bring blunted beats to the energetic crowd. Flying Lotus will be joined by the talented residents of the world-renowned club night: Daddy Kev, D-Styles, Nobody, MC Nocando and The Gaslamp Killer.

Also on the lineup are several notable artists from Los Angeles including Free the Robots and Matthewdavid. Local Bay Area musical luminaries Shlohmo and Dose One will also perform sets.
